The Ministry of Health of Panama is the institution in charge of watching over public health in the national territory.  Currently the administration of the Ministry of Health of Panama is lead by, Rosario Turner and Dora Jara, minister and vice-minister respectively. 

Through the Ministry of Health programs for the prevention of disease in the rural areas and indigenous communities are being developed.  Among the tasks of the Ministry of Health of Panama we find the collecting of statistical information and demographics about diverse aspects of public health.

In the city alone, the Ministry of Health of Panama has more than 20 Health Centers under its charge, where the medical information is provided to the city in general, especially those who do not account for the benefits of social security.
