This is a tourist complex which is structured by three populations that represent three cultures that live in Panama. For each of the three little towns that are located in the area, you can appreciate the architectural elements that these have.
Mi Pueblito tries to transmit to its visitors, both national and international, the culture and customs that the three “pueblitos” offer (Indigenous, Country and Afro Antillean) that are located at the establishment and by doing so you can get a real flavor for what the countryside of Panama is really like.
The three complexes of Mi Pueblito
INDIGENOUS - this villaje represents the ethnic groups Kuna, Embera, Wounan and Nogobe Bugle. In the houses made of palm leafs in the different communities you can buy craftworks made by these indigenous groups and learn about their cultures as well.
COUNTRY - This one was the first built; it has a small plaza, its church and many houses, some represent important institutions that take country life, such as the Municipal Building, there are also restaurants, a museum, craft stores and country homes complete with utensils and traditional furniture.
AFRO ANTILLEAN - these are a group of buildings that represent black ethnicity, especially those who arrived to work during the construction of the Panama Canal. Here you will find architecture like the protestant church and a replica of the Miller House.
Mi Pueblito also serves as a scenery for cultural events which is another reason to visit this attractive place and observe the activities that are presented within the establishment on the weekends. You can find 27 retail shops location and there is even a spot for sampling gourmet coffee.
You will also find the El Rincon Tipico de Meche restaurant, where you can enjoy that exquisite flavor that Panamanian food has. So if you are interested in getting to know Mi Pueblito, they open their doors from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Make sure to wear light clothing, sneakers and a hot to shade yourself from the sun.
