How to get to Isla Mamey

To get to this charming place, you need to travel to Con and take the Portobelo highway, after you have to arrived to Puerto Lindo and you will need to take a boat that will take 15 minutes to arrive to the island for a suitable price of $3.00 round trip.

Throughout the island you will find cabins for accommodations at $9.00 per night. Also, you can camp in the area because there is plenty of space available for tents. Keep in mind though that Panama has a rainy season so do plan wisely. 

Activities that you can do in the island

Isla Mamey is ideal for people who like to practice snorkeling and diving thanks to its calm waters. There are also other activities for people who like to take walking trips and observe birds; there is a path that surrounds the island to observe sea birds like the pelican, fish eagle and the fishing Martin.

Remember that if you decide to camp in the island you have to take precautions because the only way to return to the city is by boat. You have to have a first aid kid, food, bottled water, comfortable clothing, wood to make fire because during the night it gets chilly and an insect repellent.
