Panama is a beautiful country surrounded by gorgeous beaches, rivers or streams where you can go for recreation and bathe safely in any of its nine attractive provinces. Playa Grande is one of those with its attractive sand and beautiful waters.
How to get to Playa Grande
It is very simple to get to this beach, you can’t miss it! Playa Grande is located between the towns of Las Uvas, Rio Mar and Corona in San Carlos. This beach is also known as Playa Panama. The entrance is right where you see a sign that says “abarroteria Nany”, it takes 5 minutes by car or 25 minutes on foot to get to the beach on this path. From the main city it takes an hour by car, and an hour and a half if you come by bus.
If you want to go camping in Playa Grande watch out for the east side, the tide rises more there. Here you will find a great shrub to take refuge, among them is the Panama tree (Sterculia Apetala). If you decide to spend the night while camping be careful with the Manchineel tree (Hippomane mancinella). You should not take refuge under or near this tree since it is very poisonous and can cause burns and blisters. Should you have contact with the Manchineel tree wash with plenty of sea water.
