These are known since they reproduce in calm and crystalline waters. In Panama huge hunchback whales can be seen in the Aquatic Park in Isla Coiba, approximately 12 miles out of the Pacific coast.
A place that without a doubt you should visit while in Panama, where you can observe docens of whales is San Blas; here many people have been lucky and have been able to see whales from near and far distances.
The whales have a reason for which they are driven to Panamanian waters; experts attribute this to the favorable conditions of the temperature, the calmness and shallowness of the waters. Experts also say that Panamanian waters lend themselves for the cetaceans to give birth and breast feed their young.
Between June and September you can observe these marine species migrate and then return in a year of gestation to give birth. When the young are born the mothers take advantage of the low tide to show them how to survive and with luck you may see the mother and young together.
