 By traveling to the province of Cocle, Panama, you will have the opportunity to see all its charming attractions; among these is the Museum of Penonome, a tourist attraction the province has for the world.It is easy to get to the museum, since it is located in the historic neighborhood of San Antonio. It is surrounded by a magnificent colonial construction that has houses that still maintain an excellent and cheerful facade.
Tour of the Museum of Penonome
The Museum of Penonome has four halls that are subdivided similarly to the old houses that can be found in the area. It takes 45 minutes to see the halls and a guide will walk with you and explain all the artifacts and pieces that are within the museum.
The Exhibits
 TEMPORARY EXHIBITON HALL - used to present cultural events, where concerts, recitals, seminars, workshops, among others, are celebrated.HOUSES FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE 20TH CENTURY - here you will learn about the materials that were used to build houses during that time period.
HOUSE FROM THE SITIO CONTE - here you will find objects, traces, pieces and other historic features that show the great prestige of the Cocle culture.
ANCIENT HALL - here you will find Antique pieces of: pre-Columbian art, majolica and clay dishes, and “guacamaya” style ceramics.
Within the Museum of Penonome you will find the most special hall, which is: the Isabel Begovich house. This hall has great history of the Cocle town and is divided in three sections which are: the Spanish conquest, religious colonial art and anthropology.
 The Museum of Penonome is a place visited by many national and international tourist that wish to learn the history and culture of this charming town. It has also been used for great scientific and historic investigations. The museum opens its doors from Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and costs $1.75.
