There is also a dry season, from January through April, it is pretty dry and coincides with the astronomic winter. The mild highlands of the tropics can be found in the highlands of the provinces of Bocas del Toro, Chiriqui like Cerro Punta, and part of Veraguas.

Baru Volcano

The Baru Volcano is located in the province of Chiriqui, and is catalogued as the highest point of the country; Cerro Puntaon its skirts is the town of Volcan, which in the midst of drizzle and fog boasts a variety of natural attractions. On its sides due to its climate and fertile soil great agricultural centers have been created among which are: Cerro Punta, Volcan, Boquete, among others, which currently are tourists’ centers.

As far as tourism, Cerro Punta offers several tourist services such as hotels, guesthouses, cabins, restaurants, bars and tourist guides. Also if you are interested in living in Panama, Cerro Punta has several beautiful properties for rent or sale. This spot on the north of the province of Chiriqui is elevated at 1,970 meters above sea level, reason for which it is colder than in the closer regions. The houses have a Swiss style together with the mountainous landscapes make Cerro Punta a destination with a peculiar charm.

Main tourist attractions

Cerro PuntaThe Los Quetzales path joins two villas, Boquete and Cerro Punta, in the highlands of Chiriqui, through the Parque Intenacional La Amistad (La Amistad International Park). It is one of the most popular and visited paths in Panama. If you begin the tour from Cerro Punta, there are three sectors: the first is the entrance to the Park (Cerro Punta Park Guard’s Station), the second is the path between this entrance and the Park Guard’s Station of Boquete, meaning the path itself and the third is between this last one and the entrance to villa of Boquete.
