 Each year the Fair of the Holy Ghost Orchid is visited by many tourists and nationals, who are attracted by the charm that this beautiful flower entails, with its curious shape of a small white pigeon with opened wings within the center of its petals.
Today this lovely flower grows near the humid mountains and is at the risk of becoming extinct; this is due to the tree felling and burning in the forest. This flower grows during the months of July and August; it is for this reason that the town of Las Minas, pays special tribute to this national symbol and celebrates the Fair of the Holy Ghost Orchid from the 29th to the 31st of August.
During the Fair, there are many events that are held in town; starting on Friday with the coronation of the queen and her tour all over the town, on Saturday the folkloric presentations that are done during the entire day, and as well on this day, this day there is the decimal contest which is a folkloric add lib duel; on Sunday you can enjoy the craftwork exposition.
On that day it is very important to have the Orchid stand for the  visitors to observe the flowers, among them: exotic orchids like the Semana Santa, Pascua, Los Grillos, la Mosca and other lovely flowers. Do not forget that during the Fair of the Holy Ghost Orchid, this unusual flower, is not for sale, thus the purpose is to conserve it and if taken out of their habitat it cannot be reproduced.
You can also acquire grains, fruits and legumes, the producers from Chepo, Quebraza, El Rosario and El Nazal improvise ranchos to commercialize fruits and therefore offer their visitors the work they have harvested.
