DAVID - THE CAPITAL CITY OF CHIRIQUI

David

The city of David is the capital of the province of Chiriqui, it is located ad the west of the republic, being one of the main sources of business, agriculture, stockbreeding and industry.  For its geographic location it is characterized by tall mountains, coastal zones and forests, becoming one of the most important tourist zones of the country.

This lovely city offers its visitors the comfort of the big cities such as hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, car rentals, health services, malls, movie theaters, banking services, clubs, and entertainment centers, among others.

DavidDuring your stay in the city, you can visit the highlands, go bird watching, got to the beaches, waterfalls, thermal ponds, petroglyphs, museums and archeological heritages.  We invite you to take a tour of the rivers on balsa or kayak, and to enjoy the excursions in the country and the forest areas, where you can observe beautiful views with a variety of flora and fauna.

The Climate in David

You will find tropical climate, divided by two seasons: humid during the winter and dry during summer whereDavid the temperature in its majority is of 27 degrees centigrade.  But if you like a more fresh and cool environment you can go to places of higher elevation such as Boquete, Volcan and Cerro Punta.

How to Arrive to David

AIRLINE FLIGHTS

We have two airlines that connect directly between David and Panama City.  You can choose between the Mapiex or Aeroperlas Airline Companies, the cost of the ticket is about 65.00 dollars per person, the estimated time for the flight is 50 to 60 minutes depending on the climate, all of the flights leave from the Marcos A. Gelabert airport in the city capital.  These airlines have three daily flights that include roundtrip tickets.

GROUND TRAVEL

Your trip can be done by bus, if you do not have your own car, you should board these comfortable and modern buses at the Albrook Bus Terminal (Gran Terminal de Albrook), they leave every half hour and will make the trip within six hours towards David in the province of Chiriqui.

Costa Rica is close by

DavidAnother way to arrive to the province of Chiriquí is from Costa Rica, you can make this trip on the Interamerican highway, for this you should take a tica bus that leaves the city of San Jose in Costa Rica towards the city of David or you can take a direct flight from one city to the next on the SANSA S.A. of the TACA group.
