Azuero is characterized by being a fundamental part in the preservation of Panamanian folklore; being the main attraction for national and foreign visitors who want to get to know our autochthonous customs. Azuero is located in the central part of Panama, limited at the east of the Pacific Ocean and with the Golf of Panama. It is comprised by three provinces which are: Herrera, Los Santos and Veraguas.

This group of eye-catching provinces is what is known as the Azuero Peninsula; they have humble inhabitants, who preserve the traditions and customs that are carried from generation to generation. Its great majority are craftsmen that are dedicated to gold or silver work, making hats and the lovely Panamanian pollera.
This region is also recognized by the production of alcoholic beverages, mainly seco, a beverage that is extracted from sugar caneproduced on the Varela Hermanos farm which is also dedicated to the production of the rum, which is highly commercialized overseas.

EL CARNAVAL - traditional party celebrated each year; they are four consecutive days of fun and tribute to the Momo God.
MANITO FESTIVAL IN OCU - this festival is done in Ocu, where the folklore stands out through the folkloric dances that originated in this sector.
INTERNATIONAL FAIR IN AZUERO - it is a family fair with many attractions that go from national and foreign crafts up to agricultural and industrial machinery sales, you can try the delicious food, enjoy the dances, folkloric presentations, nightclubs among other amenities.

THE SAN JUAN BAUTISTA CATHERDRAL - it is located in the city of Chitre and has 19th century architecture.
HERRERA MUSEUM - a small, humble and traditional museum that permits you to make a tour of the past to get to know the history of this region.
PARQUE NACIONAL SARIGUA - is a natural refuge for wild life where you will be able to observe species like armadillos, green iguanas, black iguanas and a diverse fauna originating from the Sarigua desert.
Ways to get to Azuero
By ground, if you do not have your own car you can make your trip on bus, you should go to the Albrook Terminal in the city capital, where you can board a bus to Azuero; the trip takes about 4 hours.
