Each year, Bocas del Toro, is visited by many tourists, nationals and foreigners that would like to get to know this charming place. The visitors are attracted by these islands that they consider an indescribable paradise.

Bocas del Toro is located on the isolated northeast coast of Panama; in this province The Feria del Mar is (the Sea Fair) celebrated each year in the month of September; it is just one of the many attractions that Bocas del Toro has to offer.

This fair is held in Puerto de Pollensa, where you will see craftwork expositions, food, Photography; in addition you will also see demonstrations about fishing techniques, expositions, workshops and music. 

The Feria del Mar, was created with the intention of promoting traditional fishing and in this way encourage people and specially the fishermen, for them to feel a special attraction to the sea and for marine life.

Activities that are done during the fair

A series of activities are done during the days of the fair.  They begin with workshops about Fish, storytellers; and the program also has cooking segments and musical orchestras that have live presentations.

For those who enjoy mechanical rides, at the Feria del Mar you can also find these and have an excellent family afternoon and in this way enjoy all of the attractions, take pictures and acquire lovely craftwork, which are made by the hands of the Bocas del Toro potters.

HOW TO GET TO BOCAS DEL TORO

You only have to make one trip, by air or ground in order to enjoy the enchantment offered by Bocas and the Feria del Mar:

Ø      By Air: you will have to board a charter plane at the Marcos A. Gelabert Aeropuerto in Albrook.

Ø      By Ground:  from the Terminal de Transporte de Albrook you can take the bus that will take you to Bocas del Toro Express or if you have your own car, you can drive and in this way enjoy the scenery and attractions of all the Provinces of Panama that you have to go through to get to Bocas del Toro.
