PANAMA CANAL EXPANSION WILL AID GLOBAL FINANCIAL MARKETS

Panama Canal

The planned  expansion of the Panama Canal constitutes a  positive turning point for global financial markets.

Before the juncture of the expansion of the Canal’s rout, the professionals in Interpanama Real Estate Agency aspire to be the main connection between yourself and your future investment in Panama since the company has projects both in construction and preconstruction in all the national territory, including the shores of the Panama Canal.

For this reason the company commits to involving its potential clients with the most exclusive real estate projects in the Canal Zone, which have the highest standards of the quality of life. In this sense the possible buyers form part of one of the most important pages of the life of the Panamanian Republic as is the construction of the third set of locks.

Due to the magnitude of this megaproject, Benita Ferrero, Commissary of Exterior Relations of the European Union, during her visit to Panama stated that her region is interested in financing 19% of the jobs of the extension; a percentage that represents 428 million dollars. She also mentioned that the total amount would come from the European Investment Bank, financial arm of the European Commission. During her visit to Panama, the official will be Panama Canalawarded with the order “Manuel Amador Guerrero” in the grade of “Great Cross” and will assist to a lunch in her honor in the chancellery head office in the historic center of Panama City, announced the local authorities.

Additional Facts

The Canal is used by 5% of the worlds maritime businesses and was built between 1904 and 1914. The USA took over the project after the failure of France and French Count Fernando de Lesseps. who began his work between 1880 and 1889. Annually between 12 and 14 thousand ships cross the Panama Canal, mainly from the United States, Japan, Chile, Korea and China.

Due to the great demand existing in the Panama Canal and in the innovations of the design of the ships, the people of Panama approved by means of a referendum, the construction of a third set of locks, which will allow for the aquatic way to be in accords with the new works of engineering. The works initiated on September 3rd and will finish in 2014.
