So where do we begin with this one. I guess by telling it like it is. Viveros Island covers about 600 hectares (1500 acres) and is the crown jewel of the Pearl Islands (Archipelago de las Perlas). Its exact location is 72 km (45 miles) southeast of Panama City and is just a 15 minute flight or 90 minute boat ride from there. The island has a long standing reputation for haivng some of the best beaches in Panama which take up over 19 km (12 miles) of the islands 32 km (20 mile) of coastline. "Viveros" is also known for its very calm waters. It's central location in the "Archipelago" brings this about and as a result you have some of most exciting scuba diving and snorkeling you can find anywhere. You'll be awed by the whales, dolphins and sea turtles that roam these tropical waters.
In looking at these special attributes to the island the folks behind the project want to preserve and protect what's been here. In other words, sound ecological decision making is moving the project forward. For example, lot owners will only be allowed to build a home that covers 15% or less of the total area of their lot. And the island as a whole will only have 20% of its land mass built upon. Replanting and/or redistributing of key trees and foliage will also be a part of the construction process. In summary, everyone involved here wants to keep Viveros Island as close to its natural state as possible and continue its reputation as one of the best islands in Panama.
Getting back to the "resort" itself, is will have 5-star hotels, beach & yacht clubs, water sports (equipment rental) and state-of-the-art spa facilities. You will even have an airstrip with commercial jet landing capability for international flights. In fact, one will be able to clear customs right here on the island. And for local (Panama) flights where you have your own personal plane, private hangers will be available for certain residents. Other key things on the island will be self sufficient power & water supplies, propane gas, fire station, first rate aqueducts and sanitary facilities plus there will be regular shuttles to get you around the island at your convenience. (there will just be "electrical vehicles" on the island).
Looking at the island further you will have some great entertainment including a casino, discotheques, bars and an amphitheatre for special productions and events. There will also be 13 parks, social and recreational areas like basketball and tennis courts plus for those of you who like their daily walk there are plenty of sidewalks and paths to accomodate you there.
Moving on to the lots now, the value per square meter is about $180 ($17 per sq ft). When comparing that figure to other golf resorts with similar amenities you'll find this is as good as it gets by far. Furthermore, as stated before the lots are estate sized parcels averaging about a half hectare (1.25 acres) which gives you added privacy. Plus the plots are mostly elevated (about 15 feet above sea level) which will allow future residents superior views of the ocean and many of the nearby islands.
For house models there are 5 distinct "villas" to choose from with a variety of custom options available including a private dock. People are being encouraged however to build a custom home if that's your personal preference. All residences well come standard with high end finishes, mahogany wooden doors, aluminum or pvc windows, marble or stone floors, tiled roofs, modular bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens and expansive terraces. You'll also get split air conditioners plus telephone, cable and internet outlets in all the bedrooms and living room.
